Gail Moaney Jackson To Receive David Hegg Award

On Sunday, June 7th, at 3pm join with us to celebrate the life ministry of Gail Moaney Jackson at the annual Diocese of Newark David Hegg Award at St. Peter’s Morristown.  Each parish is invited to nominate one person to receive this award, and this year the leadership chose Gail, a woman of faith, and Emmy award winning journalist, and a leader in her community.  For more information about the event, click here: https://dioceseofnewark.org/event/hegg-awards-2026/

Gail Moaney Jackson has been a faithful member of Christ Church in Bloomfield & Glen Ridge since Trinity Church in Montclair closed, where she was an active leader for over 20 years.  At Trinity, she served multiple terms as a dedicated Vestry member, supported the youth group, and leveraged her PR background to steward the church.

Outside the church she was a leader in business, a recipient of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS)’s Emmy Awards, and named by The Network Journal as one of the top “25 Influential Black Women in Business” for 2010.  A fine arts graduate of Howard University, she holds an MA degree in broadcasting production and management from The American University.  She was a Finn Partners founding managing partner and served as executive vice president of Travel & Tourism and director of Travel & Tourism at Ruder Finn, Inc.  She has over 20 years of experience in agency and corporate public relations and in broadcasting, implementing communications programs for destinations, transportation companies, hotels and resorts, and economic development entities worldwide. Her other awards and honors include PRSA’s McEachern and Prism Awards and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)’s Gold Quill Awards.

Gail had to retire from her executive travels after suffering a major stroke while at a business conference in October of 2019. She continues to be a joyful presence in our parish.  Congratulations Gail!
