Autumn Berea To Speak At PFLAG Meeting – Oct 13

536065_243984992404256_1617394758_nMs. Berea, a doctoral student in Montclair State University’s PhD in Family Studies program specializing in relationship violence in the LGBTQ+ community, is the guest speaker at the next PFLAG meeting on Oct. 13th at 7:30pm at Christ Church.  The topic for the evening is: “Relationship Abuse Doesn’t Discriminate: Dating Violence and LGBTQ+ Youth.”

According to the CDC, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, and Queer youth are especially vulnerable to experience dating violence. In order to help build healthy and loving relationships, Ms. Bermea will be discussing dating violence among LGBTQ+ teenagers and young adults. She will also discuss resources for survivors and how to support loved ones who have experienced dating violence.
