We will be officially opening and dedicating the newly renovated nursery school classrooms and church space during an Open House on Tuesday, October 4th, starting at 6:30pm. Cutting the ribbons to the new spaces will be the Mayor of Bloomfield, the Honorable Michael Venezia. Blessing them will be The Right Reverend Mark Beckwith, Bishop of the Diocese of Newark.
This project began with initial planning in early 2014, and cost $350,000 to complete. As a result, the church expanded and improved the Nursery School adding new classrooms and renovating older spaces, allowing the church to offer more local children affordable child care in a safe, nurturing, and Christian setting. Also included in the project was relocating and renovating church offices, adding two small group meeting spaces, and a lift for handicap access to both, as part of the church’s commitment to accessibility for all (Christ Church worship spaces and Parish Hall are already handicap accessible).
The Nursery School of Christ Church is a ministry of the church that was started in 1967, and currently serves over 100 children. It is a New Jersey licensed, full day pre-school and child care program for infants from 6 weeks to 6 years. The school offer a rich language-based curriculum that provides superior child-care while incorporating social, verbal, and listening skills. While in the past, all the classes had waiting lists, as a result of this new renovation, there is now some additional availability.
