On Saturday, May 18th at 3 PM, St. Peter’s Morristown hosted a screening of the documentary The Philadelphia Eleven, chronicling the ordination of eleven women to the Episcopal priesthood in defiance of existing church regulations.
The documentary shed light on the pivotal events that unfolded in 1974 at a church in Philadelphia when eleven courageous women challenged the status quo by seeking ordination to the priesthood, despite the Episcopal Church’s official stance that only men were eligible for such roles.
Afterward, Mother Diana joined with the Rev. Danielle Baker and one of the original Philly 11, and the Rev. Nancy Wittig to discuss the movie.
