After months of interviews and meetings, Mother Diana and the choir have selected Mr. Ryan Bridge to be our next Director of Music, starting in September. Ryan succeeds Scott Ziegler, who left just after Easter Sunday to devote more time to his students where he teaches, and our interim Steven Zimmerman. We offer our deepest gratitude for the blessing of Steven, and wish him and his wife Stephanie all the very best in the future. We will officially welcome Ryan as part of the Choir Appreciation Sunday on September 22nd.
Ryan Bridge has enjoyed an active sacred and choral music career, most recently having served as pianist and organist at the Sycamore Community Church of Ho-Ho-Kus and as pianist and assistant conductor for the Ridgewood Singers.
As a concert musician, Bridge has performed at venues around the world, and at music festivals such as the Beijing International Music Festival and Academy, Miami Music Festival, and the Philadelphia Young Pianists Academy. In 2023, Bridge premiered a series of new works focused on the theme of climate change in a program titled “Plastic Lives” with soprano Lori McCann in a multi-city tour. Bridge currently teaches at the Wharton Institute for Performing Arts in New Jersey, where he is frequently featured as a performing artist in their “Salon Series,” and maintains a private teaching studio, and his students have won various first prizes and been accepted to programs such as Manhattan School of Music Precollege.
