This week, the Rev. Diana Wilcox continues her three part series on the Gospels. This Adult Forum will explore the Christological (how we talk about Christ) views of the synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke), and also how they differ with the fourth Gospel, John.
The series started last week with an introduction to biblical exegesis – the study of sacred texts, and will draw upon the historical, literary, and source (who wrote what and when) of the Gospels. We will look at what was included in our canon, and what was not, what we know, and what we don’t know, about these sacred texts.
No prior experience in studying scripture is needed, as this will be an introduction. If you have a favorite version of the bible, please bring it. We will have bibles available as well. You do not have to have been at the first one to attend the others.
These will be held in the Coursen Room beginning after coffee hour, so grab some delicious goodies and coffee, greet your fellow parishioners, and then wander over.
